Daru Car Ltd. was founded in the summer of 1992 and started its activity as an official importer of BMW AG products for Bulgaria. At the beginning the company focused on the sales of cars, as the first year also marks the beginning of after sales servicing. Gradually the service facility the spare parts warehouse expanded.
In the summer of 1994 it opened its doors of the body and paint workshop, equipped according to all requirements of BMW AG. In the autumn of 1994, following the purchase of Rover Group by BMW AG, Daru car Ltd. became an official importer of Rover and Land Rover brands in Bulgaria. In the same year the doors of a specialized workshop opened.
In the autumn of 1995, together with the Rover Group, the production of the Maestro model started in the city of Varna. During the first months the sales were encouraging and reached about 100 cars per month. Unfortunately the economic situation in the country, as well as the inadequate attitude of the then managers do not allow for the development of the project. In the following years, when the country faced an economic crisis, the company maked every effort to maintain its position on the market.
Every year the company participates in the major car exhibitions in the country and regularly presents to Bulgarian customers the new models from the brands of BMW, MG Rover and Land Rover. In parallel, the main efforts are directed towards the expansion of the dealer network in the country. Contracts were made with dealers in Pleven, Bourgas, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv and Varna, having entirely new facilities being opened in Pleven and Bourgas.
After the developmental reorganizations in the automotive industry in international terms, namely the sale of the Rover Group by BMW Group, as well as the reorganization of the dealer networks by many manufacturers within the EU, currently Daru Car Ltd. is an official partner of the newly opened office of BMW Group in Bulgaria and the official auto-restructuring center of Porsche cars. After many years of work and development it is the main starting point for members of the BMW network in Bulgaria that are going to develop the brand on the market, in the face of other authorized dealerships, service centers and representatives of the brand. The company offers sale of premium cars available in the car dealership or delivery on demand, purchase of used cars, consulting in the financing and insurance of cars, warranty service for BMW cars, as well as specialized service for MINI, and has one of the largest after sales centers in Bulgaria.
Since 2017, the company is also a logistic partner of ALD Automotive.
